Check-in: week three

More virtual coffee talk and sharing after the third week of 15 more minutes a day...

This is an opportunity to share the struggles and the joys in the comments box. This week's prompts have had a focus on devotion this week:
becoming,
patience,
encouragement,
the cross,
the ordinary,
and living out delight.

How is it going, and where are we at?

This week's scripture: Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23)

I just have an increasing sense--have had, actually--that I need to do something more planned, deliberate, and thoroughgoing in terms of my devotion. I want it to be total, and thinking about these different ways of encountering and embracing God in the everyday helps.

Peace,
IC

Heck, that just gave me the help I need to get through the rest of this night. Happy Christ the King, everyone.

Sometimes I forget to check the site, and remember when I go to bed that I promised to pray for 15 minutes daily, so I say a rosary. I am starting to feel more drawn in to the rosary. I'm not sure I am saying this right. I am praying the rosary now with more clarity. I can concentrate on the mystery, my intention, and the prayers being said. Praying the rosary takes practice. Who knew?
I have liked being able to pray in different ways as well. I have noticed that I have trouble "being in the moment" while praying. That has gotten better. Prayer takes practice. Who knew? Planning anything special like this for advent? If so, sign me up. (I hope you don't think the question is obnoxious. I realize that you are busy, being a professor and theologian and everything. If you direct me to a good advent prayer site on the web, I'm sure that will work)
This has been good. Thanks for the invitation to participate.

Steve, good to hear. Helen, I can't keep this up during advent, but I will recommend other options on the last day of November to continue this. Thanks!
